India secured 8th rank in the World Skills Asia Competition 2025

India secured 8th rank in the third World Skills Asia Competition 2025 in Taiwan. India won one silver, two bronze medals and three medals for excellence in both traditional and tech-driven skill categories.

• In its first participation in the World Skills Asia Competition 2025, India achieved an important accomplishment on the global skills stage by securing 8th rank while competing with 29 countries.
• In the competition, India won one silver, two bronze medals and three medals for excellence in both traditional and tech-driven skill categories.
• On the success of Indian players, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, said that India's performance in the competition shows the confidence, creativity, and discipline of the country's young talent.
• Women competitors performed brilliantly, contributed significantly to the medal tally, and showed the growing leadership of young women in India's skilling ecosystem.

World Skills Asia Competition 2025

• Taipei, Taiwan hosted the third World Skills Asia Competition from 27-29 November, 2025 at the Nangang Exhibition Center, in which more than 500 participants from 29 Asian member and guest countries took part to promote education, economic development, tourism, and international exchange.
• Participation: The Indian contingent included 23 competitors in 21 skill categories, who received support from 21 experts under the leadership of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

What is WorldSkills Asia Competition (WSAC)?

• A premier continental skill competition under the WorldSkills movement, which promotes excellence in technical and vocational education (TVET) across Asia. It brings together youth to compete in different trades—traditional, digital, and emerging.
• First WSAC: 2018, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
